Not much to say about this one. Very simple, had no plan for it, just kinda happened.
Made in Maya 7, rendered in mental ray 3.4.5. The petals were modeled in NURBS, as was the stalk. The heart, stars and other tiny things were done with polys. The bottom giant part of the plant was converted to polys from NURBS, then eventually converted to Sub-D's. Lighting was done with final gathering and bright planes (no hdr images). The green on the bottom part of the plant is actually bounced light from a green ground underneath. The lights in the petal things were standard mental ray Physical lights. L_Glass shader used on the orb, and particle_volume used inside for the black fogginess. Maya ramp shaders used on the petals and the heart and stars.
