This is a 3D version of Delya's image ASEXUAL.
Delya and I were driving home and somehow a conversation got started about how I accidentally modeled an ass on First Impression. Then we were wondering how the heck they reproduce since they are not gender specific (asexually reproducing). The first idea was that they, uh, came from their asses! Eventually I suggested mitosis, but then Delya said BUDDING. So there it is, they bud. Suddenly you'll be sitting there and another Zurd will start to pop out of your head. Oh, these ambiguous white characters we've been doing are called Zurd now, by the way.
I know you're all gonna hate me for making these Zurd characters so often, but you know what? I like them, and I'm gonna make what I like to make, so gtfo poopface.
Just be lucky you don't bud. Imagine sitting in class, or in a buisiness meeting, and suddenly a foot or an ass pops out of your face!
Made in Maya 7, rendered in mental ray 3.4.5. Lit with one huge mental ray area light coming from the left. Indirect lighting was handled with final gathering (coming from the environment) with multiple diffuse bouncing, no global illumination. Every shader in the scene was written myself (it's my own 'swiss army' or 'do-everything' shader) except for the ground which used a mentalray DGS for simplicities sake. The shader on the skin has a special Fresnel-like falloff, which means it reflects more towards the edges than the enagles facing the camera. Same with the eye whites, except it's harder to notice.
This is by far the most intricate model of the Zurd I've ever done. Normally I find ways to keep it easier... for example, I didn't model a mouth on Rip This because I used NURBS to model the head so I could very easily trim the eye sockets out instead of having to model them. In this case I modeled the entire thing in subdivision surfaces because I needed the mouth to look right AND the eyes to look right. I spent particularly a lot of time on the hands and the ASS! I'm obsessed with modeling asses.
